The Brogue Artist – "Punk Marilyn" Original
The Brogue Artist – Punk Marilyn
Original Mixed Media Artwork | 64 × 94.5cm | Framed
Bold, rebellious and bursting with colour, Punk Marilyn by The Brogue Artist transforms one of Hollywood's most recognisable icons into a striking celebration of punk culture and contemporary street art.
The composition features Marilyn Monroe reimagined as a punk-inspired figure, complete with a black leather biker jacket, rebellious graphic details and a dramatic, confident expression. Her unmistakable blonde hair, vivid blue eyes and red lips remain, creating a playful contrast between classic Hollywood glamour and the raw attitude of punk rock.
Set against an explosive background of fluorescent yellows, oranges, pinks and reds, the artwork incorporates layers of graffiti-inspired markings, stars, geometric symbols and distressed textures. References to anarchist imagery and urban street culture add to the rebellious character, while the bold stencil-style portrait creates an immediate visual impact.
The contrast between Hollywood nostalgia and punk rebellion gives the piece its distinctive personality. By taking a familiar cultural icon and placing her within a gritty, graffiti-inspired environment, The Brogue Artist creates a contemporary reinterpretation that feels both playful and provocative.
Created as an original mixed media artwork and presented in a sleek black frame, Punk Marilyn is a colourful statement piece combining pop culture, individuality and the expressive energy of street art.

About the Artist | The Brogue Artist
The Brogue Artist is a British contemporary street artist whose work draws inspiration from urban culture, graffiti, nostalgia and the visual world around him.
Growing up surrounded by creativity and a love of visual culture, he studied Art & Design at SCAT in the late 1980s, before completing a BA in Product and Graphic Design at Bristol University.
Following a career spanning more than 30 years in the commercial world, his creative passion was reignited during the lockdown of 2020, marking the beginning of a renewed commitment to producing original artwork.
Today, working as The Brogue Artist, he creates contemporary street-inspired pieces combining bold graphic imagery, expressive textures and cultural references. His background in design brings a strong sense of composition and visual storytelling to his work, while his interest in graffiti and urban environments gives each piece a distinctive street-art character.
His work bridges the gap between graphic design, contemporary art and authentic urban culture, often exploring themes of identity, nostalgia and social observation through layered, visually engaging compositions.
