The Brogue Artist – Looks Like Trouble Original
The Brogue Artist – Looks Like Trouble
Original Mixed Media on Box Canvas | Framed | 44 × 44cm
Bold, rebellious and full of attitude, Looks Like Trouble by The Brogue Artist brings together the raw energy of punk culture, street art and contemporary urban expression.
The artwork features two figures with contrasting styles, one dressed in a dark jacket and the other sporting a distinctive punk-inspired look. Set against a vibrant background of yellow, orange, blue and red, the characters capture a moment of youthful rebellion and individuality.
A large peace symbol dominates the background, creating an interesting contrast with the rebellious imagery in the foreground. Layers of graffiti tags, crosses, symbols, paint splashes and distressed textures give the composition the appearance of a heavily worked urban wall.
The combination of punk aesthetics and the universal symbol of peace introduces a playful contradiction. While the figures suggest trouble and defiance, the surrounding imagery hints at freedom, self-expression and the desire to challenge convention.
The layered composition reflects The Brogue Artist's distinctive approach to contemporary street art, combining graphic design influences with the spontaneous visual language of graffiti.
Presented as an original artwork on box canvas, the piece is finished in a contemporary white frame that provides a clean contrast to the vibrant colours and expressive detailing.
A distinctive original celebrating youth culture, individuality and the rebellious spirit of the street.

About the Artist | The Brogue Artist
The Brogue Artist is a British contemporary street artist whose work draws inspiration from urban culture, graffiti, nostalgia and the visual world around him.
Growing up surrounded by creativity and a love of visual culture, he studied Art & Design at SCAT in the late 1980s, before completing a BA in Product and Graphic Design at Bristol University.
Following a career spanning more than 30 years in the commercial world, his creative passion was reignited during the lockdown of 2020, marking the beginning of a renewed commitment to producing original artwork.
Today, working as The Brogue Artist, he creates contemporary street-inspired pieces combining bold graphic imagery, expressive textures and cultural references. His background in design brings a strong sense of composition and visual storytelling to his work, while his interest in graffiti and urban environments gives each piece a distinctive street-art character.
His work bridges the gap between graphic design, contemporary art and authentic urban culture, often exploring themes of identity, nostalgia and social observation through layered, visually engaging compositions.
