Raw, playful and unmistakably rooted in street culture, Fragile by Baransky transforms a reclaimed-looking wooden surface into a striking piece of contemporary stencil art.
The work depicts a rat balanced high above the ground, reaching upwards with a paint roller to stencil the word “FRAGILE” across the surface. Dressed in a yellow high-visibility vest, the figure brings humour and character to the composition while retaining the rebellious visual language associated with graffiti and street intervention.
The deliberately distressed background, exposed edges and overspray give the work the feeling of something lifted directly from an urban environment. Rather than disguising the imperfections of the wooden surface, Baransky incorporates them into the artwork, giving the piece texture, history and individuality.
Created using acrylic and spray paint directly onto wood, Fragile forms part of an extremely small edition of just three, with this example numbered 2/3.

Baransky is a contemporary urban and street artist whose work is rooted in the authentic culture of graffiti, stencil art and street intervention.
